Although I and my wife are approaching our 24th wedding anniversary in January, we are in the planning stages for our 25th anniversary. It's the silver anniversary and my wife wants a church wedding because our original wedding was a civil union performed by a Justice of the Peace.

I've seen a lot of movies with dragons in them and I like most of them. This one was great and a lot of fun. "George and the Dragon" is a delightful, comedic action adventure about a knight who unwittingly becomes involved in the rescue of a princess who was kidnapped by a dragon. His efforts are assisted and then hindered by a rival knight who has his eye on the kingdom. To say any more would give the entire story away, so I'll stop right there.
"George and the Dragon" stars James Purefoy, Piper Peraldo, Patrick Swayze and Michael Clarke Duncan. There's even a short appearance by Val Kilmer. I recommend it as a family feature. Here's a trailer:

I finally got a chance to see "Eragon". I always look up movies on IMDB before I even attempt to watch them to see what people think of them. This one had a lot of low member ratings — they kept saying how it didn't follow the book. Heck, I can count a number of movies that did that. I actually enjoyed this movie. It wasn't like Lord of the Rings or anything that good, but it was better than some of the crap I've watched over the years.
"Eragon" stars Edward Speleers, Jeremy Irons and whole bunch of other people I never heard of. Here's a trailer:

Big Trouble in Little China is one of my all time favorite movies. Me, my wife and my son sat down and watched it again (on DVD) back in February for the zillionth time.
I love cheesy movies, if they're done well and "Big Trouble in Little China" fits the bill. This movie had humor, action, and fantasy all rolled into one movie. You have to see it to believe it. The funniest part is that Jack Burton (played by Kurt Russell) always talks about himself in the third person, quote:
"Just remember what ol' Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big old storm right in the eye and says, 'Give me your best shot. I can take it.'"
Curiously, I started checking blogs to see who else had written about this masterpiece. Here are a few:
Thinking-Out-Aloud – Filmage
Made for Another World
CriticalBlogs – Film's from a Natist Perspective
I could probably find a thousand more that made references to it. The strange thing is that this movie was NOT a blockbuster. Big Trouble in Little China stars Kurt Russell, Kim Cattrall, Dennis Dun, James Hong, Victor Wong, Kate Burton, Donald Li and others, here's the trailer:
