How to Make Money Online in the Philippines

It's been a while since I mentioned anything about making money online and that's simply because I don't want to compete with those people who are targeting that phrase. Nevertheless, I keep answering email from people looking to break into the business of making money online and particularly, how to make money online in the Philippines. A failed email reply (a bad Yahoo email address, I suppose) prompted me to write this for that individual and if he gleans anything from it, then you may glean something from it also.

Why the Philippines?

Philippines One of the most annoying questions I've been asked during the last three years and some odd months is "Why are you living in the Philippines?" My answer is always something along the line of "because I can".

Weight Loss Programs in the Philippines? I Don't Think So

weight-loss-pyramid I am an American living in the Philippines. America (the US) has the largest percentage of obese people of any country in the world. A lot of it has to do with the high standard of living enjoyed by most Americans, even if many Americans don't think they have a high standard of living. Those particular people need to look outside of their little box and see what's going on in the rest of the world. In the Philippines, for example, obesity isn't a problem and weight loss programs really aren't necessary, at least not right now.

Balikbayan Boxes and Shipping Freight to the Philippines

balikbayan box Unless you're a Filipino or have close ties to Filipinos, you probably don't have a clue what I'm talking about when I mention anything about a balikbayan box. Internet The high speed Internet choices are somewhat limited in Olongapo City, Philippines. This is especially annoying to foreigners who've been "spoiled" by fast and solid connectivity before moving here. I'm one of those foreigners, an American living in the Philippines.

I think the best way for me to describe the high speed Internet choices here is to give you some of my history with high speed Internet Internet, both in the US and here in the Philippines. I'll summarize the list of choices at the end.

My Best Friend

Tim Allen I met my best friend in 1992 at a Commodore Users Group meeting in Tempe, Mesa, or Phoenix (I don't remember exactly where it was), Arizona, USA. He ran a Commodore 128 BBS before I did, but I ended up being the one that rewrote all the BASIC code for both of our bulletin boards. When I took mine down in 1998, he left his running for probably 5 more years.
