As the price of gasoline and diesel in the US remains above $3 US dollars per gallon and shows signs that it will only continue to increase, more alternative fuel sources must be put into use. Can you afford to pump $40 to $100 per week into your gas tank? For many people, that's one fourth of their weekly income.

A viable alternative available now is biofuel, and I believe it's the only way to move away from petroleum-based fuel in a reasonable amount of time. Other alternative energy sources are either unavailable in most parts of the world, or are very cost prohibitive. Sure, it feels good to be green, but what good does it do if it takes nearly your entire lifetime for an energy source to pay for itself?

Biodiesel is just one area of discussion at BioFuel Debate, and it's in their biodiesel forum, where the topics include biodiesel safety, fueling locations and commercial availability. A lot of people don't understand what biodiesel is and that most modern cars made to be driven in the US can use it instead of diesel. Other forms of biofuel can be used in gasoline-powered engines, such as ethanol.

What impact will biofuel have on our economy and our environment? Biofuel impact is another area of discussion that deals with these topics and more. I'm interested in the what kind of effect it will have on the economy as we push away imported oil from the OPEC cartel.

I rarely write about things that affect every developed country in the world and I think I should do it more often. Biofuel will have a huge effect on future generations, so it's very important to get involved with it as much as possible right now.

BlogCatalog is a new, up and coming social network. It's newer than MyBlogLog, but a whole lot easier to get around in, in my opinion. I especially like the discussion forums. It's easy to just read what everyone else has to say, or get into it and post replies. You get to see the avatars next to each entry in a thread so you know (as much as you can know) who you're replying to or who's replying to you.

I've been a member for a month or so, but removed the widget for a time while moving from host to host. Still, I've been able to gather friends, join neighborhoods, etc. as if I never removed the widget. I've noticed more activity in the last two weeks than before and it keeps me excited about this community. I can see bigger and better things coming down the pike.
