One of the things I made sure my wife sent me in the last batch of cargo boxes was an external hard drive. There are numerous reasons to use an external hard drive. I'll list a few:
At about 5 pm local time, I was not able to connect to the database that houses this blog. I contacted customer support and they told me they were having database issues. More than 3 hours later (probably 4 because I was not here to check), they got everything running again.
Three posts disappeared into lala land. It was only by going into my full feeds that I was to able retrieve and repost the articles. I've learned a valuable lesson. Back up the database after EVERY post.
Besides that, guess what other lesson I learned? When my hosting subscription expires, I won't be using their services anymore. If it was only this specific issue, I wouldn't be upset. There have been others.
