The recent flap about Katy Perry's cleavage on a clip removed from Sesame Street got me thinking about breasts and American society once again. I often wonder why certain mothers of America have issues with the female anatomy and their children. Is it because they consider the female breast an obscene appendage? A whole lot of women are undergoing breast augmentation surgery in order to have more attractive breasts and enhance their cleavage, so I'm guessing that the complainers are the vocal minority.
Is Showing Breast Cleavage Shameful?
Obviously not, unless you're a Muslim in the Middle East or something (I won't get into their religious reasons for covering 98% of the female body). Why is it that some women in the 21st century have an issue with something that's been displayed for centuries? I'm talking about female breast cleavage, obviously.
What's the big deal with Sesame Street and preschoolers? Why did parents go ballistic when they thought their kids were going to get a glimpse of Katy Perry's titties? Just the cleavage, mind you. Is it because they didn't breastfeed their children like they should have? What other reason could there be for their belief that it was too much cleavage for their preschoolers? Otherwise, those kids would have seen a lot more than just cleavage. With multiple children, they might see more than an eyeful even as they get older.
I smell a publicity stunt.
Breast Augmentation and Cleavage Enhancement
If you've ever dated (or are) what Americans considers a fat lady, then you don't consider breast size or cleavage an issue to contend with. It's the skinny minnies that need the breast implants to make them look or feel more attractive. For God's sake ladies, eat something and you won't have that problem.
Okay, so you want to look more attractive to the public at large, your boyfriend or your husband. Consider the consequences of your breast enhancing surgery. Will your boobs still look the same in 10 years? Will you have to have more surgery later in life, either to replace what modern medical science screwed up or to simply have it removed?
Natural cleavage is attractive. Unnatural cleavage is, well, unnatural, even if it is attractive for a short period of time.
If you're wondering what all the fuss is about, I encourage you to watch this video. I don't think Katy Perry has anything augmented or enhanced (and probably never needed to from the early videos I've seen) and I don't see why anyone would think this is too much breast cleavage:
The part that bothers me about all this is that it's the people at Sesame Street that most likely picked her costume. If this isn't a publicity stunt for both parties in question, it's pure stupidity.

Showing some skin and cleavages is not bad, but to respect the other tradition their is a consideration to them.thanks
Beautiful girl show their cleavages sometimes in a proper way and If they want to respect they just act descent. cleavages is not the issue it is the action and motive.
I watched the video and the top of her dress was a bit small for her breasts.

I don't really see what the fuss is over the Katy Perry video. I am sure, like you said, others were in control of the video including the clothing – is the dress really that bad, does it show too much – no I don't think so. What I do think is networks listen to too many small groups that complain and react to that.

Showing some cleavage is not a bad thing and with the clothes that are being sold it's hard for the average woman not to show some cleavage. I do think there is a line between showing some cleavage tastefully and then dressing very inappropriate. For me Katy Perry was not bad at all and I don't think preschoolers would even notice.
Natural breasts are definitely the way to go. Who wants huge boobs that just look unnatural and to go through all that pain with surgery?

Not all skinny women have small breasts and it is not a guarantee that if you get fat, you will get bigger breasts. Yes, you will get a bigger band size but how attractive is that??

Showing cleavage is not bad and not really the issue. I must prefer to go having a natural breast, whatever the size is. Natural breast is still the best!
