Freelance Jobs and Freelance Writing
Within the last 15 years, one of the best jobs to open up for just about anyone in the world is freelance writing. This has been made possible by none other than the Internet and the ability to communicate with anyone anywhere, by e-mail, instant messengers and even private messages at popular forums. Out of all the different kinds of freelance jobs out there, freelance writing seems to be the most flexible. If you don't know what I mean by freelancing, please continue reading.
What is Freelance Writing?
Freelancing, by itself, almost means working for yourself. You are an independent contractor, employed by anyone who will hire your for your one-time or multiple assignments. You're not tied to a specific employer and you don't have to worry about punching a clock.
Freelance writing covers various forms of independent assignments. You may have a byline in various publications, both offline and on, or you may be a ghostwriter (no byline or someone else's byline) for various publications. In both of these contexts, publications also include websites and their text content.
How much can you earn?
Well, to put it to you bluntly, I know at least a couple of people who make six-figure incomes (yes, that's more than $100,000) every year by doing nothing more than freelance writing. It's something I never thought to get into as I would rather be one of the people hiring freelance writers as opposed to being one myself.
Can anyone earn that amount? Yes. Will everyone earn that amount? No. How much you can earn with freelance writing depends on how much you want to make (your comfort zone), how much effort you want to put into it (finding the buyers and actually doing the writing) and how much time you're willing to invest in your new chosen profession.
How do you start?
That's a good question and a lot of people are clueless. Some people get into this line of work by accident. While there's a lot of information on the net, there's also a lot of misinformation. Remember, your potential competitors want the freelancing jobs as much as you do.
This is where it helps to know the right people to get in contact with. One of my many online friends, Monika Mundell, is a freelance writer with a ton of experience. She has teamed up with Gobala Krishnan to produce a new e-book called the Freelance Writing Guide [affiliate link]. It's not available yet — the product launches on November 4th.
Freelance writing is all about knowing what to do and when to do it. This is what Monika reveals in the e-book. She's going to be sending me a review copy as soon as the finishing touches are complete and I'll have more information to pass when I receive it.

I, for one, cant be a full time freelance writer. It simply take too much out of me to write articles day in and day out. However those that have a passion and flair for writing can check out elance.com. There are people hiring freelance writers at that site.
Looks expensive to buy. I am interested but would have preferred some links to some free resources.
Thanks for your sharing. We should NEVER pay anyone to get a Freelance job . A legitimate job should pay you for what you are worth – in terms of your experience and contribution – instead of expecting you to pay upfront for the career opportunity.
