I No Longer Have an Online Business

I recently disposed of my online business. I didn't shut it down — I turned it over to someone else. I didn't make any money by doing so, but I accomplished something far greater: Peace of mind.

If you were involved in this business in any way, feel free to send me an email message and I'll tell you where it went (if you haven't already found out).

Owning Online Businesses Require Time and Patience

Running an online business requires an enormous time commitment when it's just getting started. This is not so much the case when it's operational for a period of time unless you want to interact with that business.

My online business absolutely required interaction on my part. It was designed that way. Patience really didn't come into the picture until I started having DSL connectivity problems, when I started being interrupted by frequent power outages, and when personal family issues started interfering with my ability to manage the online business.

Non-Interactive Online Businesses

Are there any online businesses that don't require interaction during the start-up phase? I don't know and I don't want to find out.

The only reason I even started thinking about developing free computer games for use online is because the online games business is "big business" nowadays. I'm glad I woke up and realized it was something I wouldn't be able to do, not because I couldn't do it but because it wasn't a viable business endeavor the way I pictured it.

How then, do I continue to make money online?

My online websites, and everything that's involved with them, are self-sustaining. What I mean is that the money I make online, without an online business per se, is still well above and beyond what it costs for each web hosting server each month, each domain name, and any specialized software packages that I use.

Since I live on a fixed income, a military pension, I can't afford to have anything outside of normal offline things (food, shelter, clothing, education, etc.) having an effect on that fixed income. What I make online is kept separate from what I'm not making offline, so to speak.

You'll find that I don't like to write about making money online because I don't make money online by writing about it. If you don't quite grasp what I just said, then you haven't been making money online.

Now… unless I start a new online business which doesn't require me spending an enormous amount of time interacting with the people involved with it, this will most likely be the last time I write about it.
