Please Don't Spam My Blog
Back in April of this year (2009), I made comment author links revert back to "nofollow" in order to stem the tide of spam that kept coming in. I left the KeywordLuv and CommentLuv plugins active. Leaving Keywordluv active was a mistake which I'm now rectifying. Read on to find out how you can get still get a following link from this blog and what I'm doing to combat spam.
Spam Dammers
I have nothing against Internet marketers. I am an Internet marketer also, but not what you'd normally perceive as such. I don't use spam tactics ever. Those Internet marketers that do, well, I call them "spam dammers" instead of "damn spammers".
Spam dammers don't care if most of their links get deleted. Spam dammers just keep on posting unrelated and spammy comments across as many sites as possible in order to build up backlinks as quickly as possible.
Get a Followed Link
The only way to get a followed link on this blog is to either have CommentLuv enabled on your site (if available) and configured properly or by leaving a link within the comment text. If your comment is actually related to the post/article it's attached to, it will most likely remain in place. If you leave a keyword anchor as the comment author, it will now get deleted. Sorry, but that's how it has to be. If you leave a relevant comment and place a link in the comment text, it will probably remain unless it points to a site in a bad neighborhood. One link, that's it. That's all you get.
As I have time to do so, I'll go through all of the comments on this blog — three years worth — and delete anything that looks even remotely spammy. You are hereby warned of this pending measure.
Why Are You Reading This?
Well, you could be reading this because you actually arrived here through a valid search or…
I am redirecting everyone who arrives at my blog to this post when their search strings contain "yourname@yourkeywords" or they are arriving from a "dofollow" list that I'm aware of.
I want you, the potential spam dammer, to understand why you're here and why you need to leave relevant comments.
[Final Update 7/24/2009: The redirection is being removed. Only 300 pages are still affected with that string and will probably be gone in a couple of days.]

Thanks for sharing.
I've left a comment a few weeks ago, but in the meantime I came accross two other comment systems that promise to avoid spam in different ways: Lucia's Linky Love and NoCommentFree. Don't know what they're worth and of no use to me, since I'm using Joomla. But maybe helpful for others.
