Retirement Income Blog

Retired? Me? Yet bet! This blog has information for me as well as for you (when you decide to retire).

What is the "Retirement Income Blog" all about?

This, the second blog I'm reviewing for Bob Richards, is all about retirement income, naturally. Investments, retirement planning and all that is what's included. I'm comfortable with what I have right now, being retired, but others aren't and they're the people that should be reading this blog. That may include you and it may not. It all depends on your current status.

Site Design

I'm not going to critique the theme. It's the default WordPress theme. The only thing unique about it is what Bob has added to it. Missing: The "about" page and contact page (or contact information). In my opinion, all real blogs have these where they can be found easily. My opinion is shared by Google, by the way. Their search engine is more likely to index sites with semi-standard features quicker than those without.

Semi-standard is the term I use because there is nothing standard about any kind of website layout. The net would be an incredibly boring place if everything looked similar, now wouldn't it? Semi-standard blogs usually have "about" pages, contact pages, archive listings (including categories and/or tags) and recent post listings.

Article Content

You only have to read a few articles to realize that Bob knows what he's talking about when he writes something like Financial Planning for Seniors. If you're not at retirement age already, you need to read this article.

There are many more articles like this, chock full of information for people thinking about retirement.

My Overall Opinion

As I stated earlier, I'm comfortable in my retirement. A lot of the advice simply cannot apply to me since I'm in the Philippines. Some of it applies to everyone, regardless of where they live.

If you're retired, pending retirement, or looking to the future, I suggest you read what Bob has to say. Bookmark it, subscribe to the feed and stay abreast of changes. If you're an American, don't make the mistake of thinking you'll survive on your social security pension. I couldn't, even though I'm in a place where the cost of living is less than a third of what it is in the US.

Would you like a Review?

My reviews are simple, including at least one link to an article as well as a link to the blog or website. They're also absolutely free. Make sure your blog is ready to be reviewed and then submit it on my "Request A Blog Review" page and I'll try to do my best to give you a fair review, without being overly critical.
