I'm All Tied Up
You know, I'm not happy unless I continually bite off more than I can chew. Right now, I'm working on so many different projects, I don't know which way is up.
What I Completed
I recently started a private network (and I'm removing the article that mentions it so that it remains private) and it required some scripting so that I wouldn't have to keep copying and pasting for hours at a time. Unfortunately, it took me two days to finish the scripts. Of course, I wrote them from scratch. I also made a few mistakes along the way and I'll have to rewrite them at some point in the near future.
I also launched a coffee and tea blog, two subjects I'm very familiar with. The difficult part was finding a theme I thought was appropriate. Even though I found one, I still had to go into the theme and change SEO-related items and spend hours getting the plugins into place with the proper configurations.
I merged four blogs into one sometime during the past couple of weeks, though the memories are starting to blur. I'm still waiting for Google and Yahoo to finish following the redirects and index the site completely before I can whack the old blogs out of existence. According to my research, they're only indexing two or three posts/pages each time they crawl the new blog.
What I Have Yet To Complete
I still have two blogs remaining in which I need to move most of the existing posts over here. I'm not going to mention the names because they're dead blogs right now. One of them will get axed and the other is going to get a makeover.
When the smoke clears and the dust settles, I'll have a mere four blogs that I'll be adding content to. I tried the niche mini-blog thing and it just didn't agree with me. This one is, of course, my flagship blog. This is the one I'm going to be working on daily, in one way or another, and probably forever.
The three other blogs, of which I've already mentioned in other posts, are not going to require daily attention. One of them is a catch-all blog for everything that I want to write but don't want to put on any of the others. One is a video-related blog and the other I mentioned above. That's it. That's all I want to deal with, besides my private network.
And That's My Final Answer
Really. I'll get back on course here at this blog later today or possibly tomorrow and start getting things rocking once again. At the beginning of next week, I'll be heading to the Subic Bay Freeport Zone, getting pictures and information for future articles. I really like writing about the local area. It's slowly becoming a popular tourist destination — The Subic Bay Freeport Zone, that is. Olongapo City isn't for tourists.

I do the same thing RT. I just started a new data capture project and I'm working very hard. I like staying busy and challenging projects but I also like to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Not seeing it right now.
Wow! Don't know how you do it. I've only got two blogs and it keeps me busy all day. I look forward to reading more in the days to come.

I saw your coffee and tea blogs and found them damn useful. Great that you are busy in your life.
Working on a bunch of different projects that you're really into can be a lot of fun and give you a real sense of accomplishment. The only issue I run into sometimes when doing this is never finishing some of the projects I start.

I really think you need to make a schedule. It really helps me deal with all those tasks.
I spent two days working on a programming project that I just completed. A schedule wouldn't have helped.
I work on my blogs while I sit in the living room, listening to the TV. That way, I keep up on a few sci fi plots and get my online stuff done too.

There's a lot to be said for consolidation RT. Regardless of how much energy we've got, if it's not routed efficiently you can't accomplish much. But I think you've gotta OVERdo just to find out the best places to cut back… can't expect to have maximum efficiency the first time, just my opinion.

I consolidate as much as possible. I'm trimming from more than 4 blogs to only 4. Only 1 blog is supposed to be daily posting and the other 3 are only supposed to weekly. I'm behind on all of them.
I feel your pain man. I can't sit still for a minute either. One thing that caught my eye was that you said google is only indexing a couple posts/pages at a time. I hadn't heard that before. Is there somewhere I can read up on it. I just recently started reading your blog so if you've already written about it I'm sorry.

It always gets better as time progresses. It started out low and has increased to a 29 per day average. You can see that information in Google Webmaster tools under "Crawl Stats" for any site you have on there.
It's great that we are busy rather than doing nothing at all.

hi RT,
If I was even half as productive as you, I think I could rule the world… well, maybe the internet… well, maybe my "niche".
You always impress me with how much you accomplish, and how much you can write.
Anyway, I usually feel like I've got more than I can chew also… but one must soldier on… so I've taken another bite with an already full mouth and will try this bloggin' thing too.

You really appears to be busy. You need to schedule your work. You can reduce your work load by assigning some work to your subordinates.
