Ask2link - Sell the Unused Space on Your Site

I was invited to try out Ask2link a few days ago. It's a new banner and text link ad service.

After and I signed up and discovered the text link ads were not "nofollow", I exchanged email messages with one of the representatives. When I told her that I couldn't use the text link ads portion of the service in its current form, she politely informed me that a solution was currently being worked on and that I would receive a message as soon as it was implemented.

[Update 2008-08-04: The choice is now available when editing the ad slot.]

In the meantime…

For those of you with a new website, which isn't ranking in the search engines yet, this shouldn't be a problem until it does. Also, if your site is purely social and search engine traffic doesn't mean anything to you, then this is a great way to sell the unused space and make enough to cover your hosting and then some.

You get paid through PayPal, with the minimum payout being $10.00 (in US dollars). The referral program is pretty good too. Check it out:

   Perhaps it is the best solution for most of my newly purchased domain. I have worked someone who have more than 150 domains and working on it. I think this is the perfect solution for him as well. Of course I shall tell him about this new system. I have same concerns with "no follow" attribute though.

      I think the "nofollow" attribute issue will be worked out real soon, giving webmasters the ability to decide whether to use it or not.

      The issue is resolved. You can now specify whether you want to use "nofollow" or not.

   So are you going to use this now Richard? Their site doesn't really say much does it.
   Any idea on how much payments will be (how much per click)?
   Bidvertiser is a complete waste of time for me - a site getting 10 adsense clicks a day gets 1 click a month on bidevertiser so I am looking for alternatives.

      This isn't a per click service. It's like Scratchback, but a whole lot simpler. Look in my lower left sidebar. I'll probably move it to a place you won't see it, but I'll keep it somewhere.

      Try TextAdMarket as an alternative to BidVertiser. Wait, who still gets only 10 clicks per day from AdSense? I get many more per day from searchers alone.

         To be honest, I can't remember how many clicks - maybe a couple of dollars a day, thats why I took adsense off, my other sites get tons of clicks. But it was still 2 bucks a day - Bidvertiser will work out to be $2 per year!

   This is good for me. I tried Text-link-ads but they did not accept blogger, perhaps while accepted other ASP based sites. While both had some PR.
   How the pricing works in ask2link.com case?

   This sounds something I need to check out in order to make a little $ from my site. I don't get much search engine traffic, but I do get visitors - mostly from word of mouth. This would be a great way to get an additional income stream..

   Would the fact that you can decide if it is a no follow link or not affect the price? If I were a publisher, unless the site had A LOT of traffic and was sending traffic to my site, I wouldn't want to pay as much for a nofollow link as I would a follow link.
