I told myself I wouldn't get involved. Unfortunately, what ePerks is doing to this blogger pisses me off to no end. Just by being online with a blog myself, I'm already involved.

The Whole Sordid Story

I would love to spend a few hours writing my thoughts on the matter, but I can sum it up in just a few words: ePerks is the scum of the Earth.

If you want to find links to everything that's been written, Google is your friend. To save you some trouble, the story can be gleaned from the links provided at "Support Vlad Zablotskyy's Defense Fund".

I won't even give the benefit of a link to ePerks.

The First Amendment

This is entirely US -centric and I apologize to my international readers. The first amendment of the Constitution for the United States of America guarantees the right to free speech, freedom of the press, etc. Vlad Zablotskyy lives in the US.

The libel or slander or whatever ePerks is suing Vlad for aren't even comments made by him. The commenters on his blog are responsible for what they wrote, not Vlad. People that link to him are responsible for their own articles. Of course, in the US, you can be sued by any one, at any time, for any thing. Even though ePerks doesn't have a leg to stand on in court, Vlad will have to handle his legal expenses until they lose.

Sue me, ePerks!

I'm bound to receive some negative comments to this, calling ePerks a scam or whatever. If the people at ePerks think they can threaten me when I'm not even in the US, let them have at it. The last time I looked at the meaning of extradition, it only applied to criminal law. In other words, I can tell the ePerks people to kiss my ass and they can't do a damn thing about it.

Special Thanks

I would like to thank Andy Beard and Blogging Sueblimely for bringing the issue to my attention.
