The Forbidden Kingdom is a delightful tale of a young man who is thrust back into the history of China. I usually don't like martial arts movies like this due to all the obvious gravity gimmicks, but this one was different and it was fun.

The Monkey King fights the Jade Warrior and gets turned to stone. It happened 500 years ago. A young man from the present, in the US no less, gets sent back to some undetermined time to help free the Monkey King from his stone prison. Along the journey, he meets two masters who teach him how to fight and a young lady he is obviously taken with.

I don't want to give away the entire plot or it'll spoil it for you. It's an enjoyable movie I originally thought was aimed at young people and it's not. I really liked it.
