The Zombie Post From Hell
As evidenced by some of my post titles and blog content, I have an affinity for zombies. Posting about zombies is one thing, but what about a post that keeps coming back from the dead, just like a zombie?
The Zombie Post On Piracy
In March of 2007, I wrote "Downloading Pirated Anything Is NOT Illegal", the article that started it all. It was nothing more than a rant (even if it didn't appear that way), one of my many random articles about something I'd done some research on. HMTKSteve of Ramblings from the Marginalized, another blogger who was contending with the entrenched members of Plime, submitted it to Digg and all hell broke loose on the crappy web host I had at the time. I followed it up with a followup to the previous article in a futile attempt at slowing down the "diggers". More than 11,000 diggers viewed the first article in less than 24 hours.
A few days later, I wrote about the almost universal hatred of the RIAA and American copyright laws in response to a comment from the first article. I left the subject alone from then on.
Four months later, I wrote about another banner day due to getting stumbled for the first article. It was stumbled more than 4,000 times. Another month later, it got stumbled again, bringing in more than 400 stumblers before I stopped looking at the count.
A stumble stampede started again today. More than 500 (and I refuse to keep looking) have stumbled it so far and it's still ongoing.
Like any good zombie, the post simply will not die and stay dead. It has a PageRank of 4 and is high in the SERPS, so I don't think it's ever going to die unless I do something stupid like deleting it.
Some Zombies Are Cool
In February of 2007, I asked "Is your PC a zombie?" and explained some simple measures to stop it from being one. Just last month, I published a zombie work of art.
The zombie post from hell isn't that cool, okay, but my blog wouldn't be in the position it's in today had I not written it.

Wow, I can't believe you got so much traffic from just ONE post! And interesting comparison to zombies, except this is a good zombie because it helped your site.
