We're Having A Heat Wave, A Tropical Heat Wave…
Yes, we're having a tropical heat wave and it's not nice like the song "Heat Wave", written by Irving Berlin in 1933 and performed many times since then (including The Who in 1965).
We are once again experiencing record temperatures along with high humidity here in the Philippines. The government weather service has issued warnings for longer than the last week and indicates the heat wave will continue for an undetermined amount of time. How does 37C/99F and 88% humidity sound to you? There are several hours a day where it's too hot for me to concentrate on anything online. That's usually what happens when the heat is on.
It you add my DSL outages to the mix, you can understand why I can't get as much done online as I'd like. Oh, how I wish I could dress like this and get away with it:

Will Ferrell and Chris Kattan only got away with it because it wasn't real life!

We do too if the rainy season doesn't last long enough. Summers really suck in Asia. I would love to have an Alaskan summer.
Make sure that you are drinking plenty of fluids, especially water, in order to keep your body properly hydrated.
2 summers age we had a heat wave, and our engagement pictures were scheduled for that day… you can see the sweat on our foreheads in some of them… haha.

The fluids part is easy. Cooling off is the hard part.
Meanwhile, we got 2 feet of snow last week and it's barely been above freezing for a couple days. A lot of people here would trade you for the heat wave. I wouldn't mind somewhere in the middle myself.
Do a lot of people have medical emergencies when it is that hot there?
I'm sure they do, but I wouldn't know. You don't hear ambulances around here like you do in developed countries.
I'm at my crankiest when it hits over 85 degrees. High humidity means I have to stay away from people or they really see the ugly side of me. 99F and 88% humidity? I'd be a puddle.

I *am* a puddle. It's a good thing you can't see me.
You should not expose to heat, stay away from the heat of the sun. Right, you should drink enough water.
I would be thrilled for those kinds of temperatures right now. Here in the Midwestern part of the United States, it's about 40 degrees on a cloudy Monday morning.

I would gladly trade my summer for your spring.
I actually have spent several summers in the Philippines. It really isn't very enjoyable, especially having to walk around all day. We would stay in McDo for several hours just to keep cool with the Air-Con.
If the restaurants weren't so far from me, I'd do the same thing. I don't have AC in my house yet (coming in August) but when I do, I'll be a happy camper.
Funny, it's way below normal here in Chicago. We were down in the 30's late last week and almost had snow. I'm sure it'll get warmer next month, but we're just having an extra long winter. But 30F is pretty compared to when we go months with temps in the 10's and 20's, so I guess we shouldn't complain :/
