WordPress Plugin: KeywordLuv
Inspired by my article, "Backlink Building with DoFollow Blogs and the CommentLuv WordPress Plugin", Stephen gives us yet another way to build backlinks.

How it works is that it splits the comment author name, when entered similar to an email address (this does NOT replace the email address in the comments):
If they enter "Stephen@Custom WordPress Plugins" in the Name field, their comment will have:
Stephen from Custom WordPress Plugins Says:
rather than:
If they don't enter the @ symbol, the anchor text will simply display as normal. For a live example, see the first comment below.
Download It and Use It
I've already done so and now it's your turn. I'll put a live example in the comments below as soon as this is published. I have absolutely no problem with any of my readers using it in the manner in which it's intended. Please don't spam the comments, however, because I'll delete spammy comments in due course.

Wow… this is a fantastic way to balance the need to want to be professional and just use my name, but the need for backlinks and wanting to use my site name.

I hope so. It's good to be able to legitimately have a backlink of sorts without needing to ask or without feeling like a spammer. I think the days of swapping links manually will disappear and this sort of thing, which automates the process, will catch on.

Grateful Guy let me know about the CommentLuv issue and I'm looking into that. I have an idea, but it will probably require a simple hack to CommentLuv. We'll see… I should have some more information in the next few days..

I didn't create it. I just wrote about it.
I am a huge fan of this plugin. It actually takes into account that fact that main reason that many people read and comment on blogs is to get backlinks to their sites. This makes it feel a lot less dirty. Great stuff, and cheers for using the plugin.

I wish keyword luv was a bit more popular as commentluv. I think it has a lot of potential.

installing luv comment and keywordluv is the two greatest things i've done to my blog. It helped increase traffic my blog and traffic increased 3folds! Amazing isn it. I'm sure you'll be a great success!
I am still not convince with keywordluv. I use commentluv for my blog. IMHO, keywordluv will only beefit to the spammers. However, commentluv is a great invention.

This seems like a clever plugin. Do you you think that devices like this will just cause Google to deprecate comment links in general?

The impact of even a thousand blogs compared to the millions now in existence probably won't concern Google at all.
I've only just discovered this plug in, we will recommend it to our clients using Word Press, comment linking is so important, linking works so well for us! The only thing is the time to manually write posts.

KeywordLuv is a great plugin, but as far as I remember, it is not automatically Do-Follow.
So be sure to install a dofollow plugin as well when you want to use KeywordLuv

keywordluv is a great plugin for dofollow blogs. In a way it discourages spam and gives the commenter the ability to write their keywords too.

I love both of these plug-ins but haven't got around to using them yet. Do you actually see a big increase in traffic or is it just people leaving comments and then leaving?

I haven't noticed any increase in traffic from using commentluv, but have found that the name field is less spammy as the commenter doesn't try to fill it with keywords as long as they have their own blog.

This plug-in is truly amazing, as people who visit my site truly increased. I am glad that in this past few months, I have seen a change in trend of spam messages. I don't often get a message that doesn't relate to the article I write.. I'm thankful that the commentators really read the content of the site.
Truely great plugin, it will probably redefine the way people comment blogs now.
Definitely this is a good plugin for building backlinks. I don't know how efficient it is, but is a good intention from webmasters to give something back to commenters.

I like keyword luv and comment luv. I found your blog and read about keyword luv then found stephens blog about comment luv. The 2 of you have some great posts and a following. They are 2 of the best wordpress plugins ever made.
I love KeywordLuv and CommentLuv. I did have problems with it though once I upgrade to 2.7. Wonder if it had somehting to do with the threaded comments?
