Blog & Article Reviews

Blog Reviews

I'm preparing to start my first blog review at Blog & Article Reviews. The first one, from my current list, will be published tomorrow (my tomorrow and not necessarily yours).

The plan is to follow the examples at OpTempo (such as "Blog Review: Prince of Wall Street") and break each review into sections. I don't think I'll go as far as Bloggy Award with a review like "Lady Java", but I never know what I'm going to do exactly until I do it. I do know the reviews will be more in-depth than the blog reviews I have already done on this blog.

I haven't created the submission page yet, which will list the blogs I have pending, but that shouldn't take too long. If I happen to omit YOUR blog (and you've requested a review), please use the submission page when it becomes available.

When my review queue empties, I'll be publishing unsolicited reviews of blogs. Hopefully, that'll never happen.

Article Reviews

Article reviews will be done much in the same way as my blog drive-bys were done in the past, but hopefully in more detail.

The plan is to follow a format similar to that of Brown Thoughts (for example, "Brown Batch #36: Link Love Fiesta"), but not exactly like that.

I'll be reviewing articles from commenters (who have blogs) on all of my blogs, regardless of which blog they comment on. I'll also be reviewing articles of the blogs in my feedreader, on my blogroll, and other sources. The goal will be to keep it at 10 articles at a time. This may cause me to generate as many as one post per day, or as few as one post per week, depending on how many articles I read and like.

Goals

The goal of each blog review is to provide at least 2 backlinks per review. The goal of each article review is to provide at least 1 backlink per article for a total of 10 per post. I may exceed those parameters at any given time for any reason you can think of, so it isn't written in stone.

Holy cow, the fingers are just burning up the keyboard RT. You'd think you hadn't been near a computer for a while. Lol.

I was dropping in to see why you had unsubscribed from my feed but after reading your last post I've figured it out.

I'll save you the trouble of reviewing my blog – it's ugly, doesn't follow any of the rules according to the "experts", infrequent posts and it's mostly white with black symbols laid out in rows across the page. If I missed anything – let me know.

Glad you're back – have missed my daily fix.

  4. RT,

Best of luck with the new site. I've subscribed to it just now.

I have to laugh at Grizzly's comment. He should stick to writing about making money, he certainly can't do blog reviews – his is one of the most useful blogs out there…

It's a good time to start doing reviews since I'm ending my free review offer at the end of the month. The bottom line was that it was a lot of time consuming work and it wasn't appreciated or even acknowledged by most reviewees. I don't ask for a link back or anything but at least leave a comment saying thank you rather than marking my trackback as Akismet spam. I've got about 40 in the queue right now and when they're done, that's it for me.

I didn't see my blog on your list of reviews, even though I sent the submission on the contact form.

Reviews really are time-consuming when they're done right and you don't get a lot of thanks for them. A review is essentially a thankless promotion. I've found that some of my reviewees linked back to me later, so it's not a complete waste of time.

I'm going for the search engines, though, so other people can thank me with some clicks. :-)

I apologize (can't use the 'S' word here for some reason :???: ). I did not update the review list until today. Looks like you're #37 on the list. I'm going to have to kick off a review post blitz soon to get it all done.

You can use sorry. You just have to click the button when the error pops up. :???:

Thanks, Frank. I look forward to an honest and scathing review.

Frank, I'm so sorry that after all your hard work, that people aren't thoughtful enough to comment or show some appreciation for reviewing their site. I was just about to send you another request to review mine again, but I see you're not going to do them anymore.
