World Military Information

When I first look at any blog I intend to review, my objectives are to find the best as well as the worst in order to provide an objective opinion. I never want to go into extreme detail because the longer I look, the more skewed my perspective becomes.

"World Military Information" is yet another blog I wish I could skip the review on. For the author's benefit, however, I'm going to be as harsh as necessary. There are a few things wrong on this blog that he may be completely unaware of.

I tried to overlook that this is a Blogger blog, because I'm biased against Blogger (blogspot.com) since it requires an inexperienced user to jump through hoops to make it look and feel like other blogging platforms (WordPress, MT, B2Evolution, etc.). The theme that Manu is using doesn't help matters any.

I'm always looking for contact information and more information about the blogger, because it helps me get a feel for what his or her objectives are. Manu's Blogger profile tells me nothing more than basic information. I did learn one thing though — he started multiple blogs on Blogger just last month.

Reading several "articles", if you can call them that, I noticed that most of them are cut-and-paste jobs from other news sources. This is not a good thing for any blogger to do. It's alright to cut and paste excerpts, but not the complete articles. Besides being a copyright violation in several countries, it's little better than what the sploggers (spam blogs, scraper blogs, and others) do. It leaves Manu wide open to attacks from the original source publishers. My suggestion is to trim them to excerpts and link back to the original sources posthaste. He should really add his own comments to the end (clearly separated) to remove any doubt that this is a legitimate blog.

Now, getting past the negative and accentuating the positive, I actually enjoyed reading "FACT:What is a "Full Metal Jacket"?" due to my own military background. I just wish Manu had published the article the right way.
