The New Free Digs'em WordPress Theme from Garry Conn

Digs'em Front Page Digs'em Single Post

Garry stopped by earlier to tell me about his first free search engine friendly WordPress theme, inspired by Digg.

To be honest, the Digg interface never did a whole lot for me. It's easy to navigate and it's search engine friendly, but the colors are not much to my liking. I'm probably one of the few in that regard because one site, Travel Air Hub, is already using Garry's theme.

Please don't misinterpret what I'm saying. Garry did a great job with the theme and it's almost too good. If I happened upon a site using the theme, I might very well mistake it for Digg and start "digging" out of habit.

Note: I had a video pasted here, but it kept hanging so I removed it.

It doesn't work well for a blog. The theme designer did a good job, but Digg.com isn't my idea of an attractive website anyway :p

    RT,

Thank you so much for posting this. It means a lot to me. One great thing about WordPress themes is that the design aspect is done in CSS, which means colors schemes can change in a matter of minutes. I am considering in the very near future, offering a few other CSS color scheme choices.

    @ Hari,

It all depends on what you use your blog for bud… When a user visits a site using my theme for the first time, they will have NO clue that it's a WordPress site, and that, to be honest, was my goal.

So you are right, this is not good for a blog that is a "blog" but amazing for people who push volume like air traffic controllers push tin.

This theme is designed for extreme high volume and quick search engine indexing. :)

    Thanks for your comments! :)

Garry – I agree on the Digg thing. I don't know how it got so popular.
