Money News

I linked to Mitch's blog when it was still hosted on Blogger, so I spent an hour or so digging through my archives trying to find where I did the review. Duh! I didn't do a review! He moved Money News to a self-hosted WordPress blog at the end of December and I think he did it just to confuse me, which isn't fair at all. I'm easily confused.

The theme is much nicer than the Blogger theme he was using, and all the design elements I always look for are in place. One thing that I've noticed on a lot of newer "money-type" blogs is the 6 and sometimes 9 image ad spots at the top of the sidebar, spanning two sidebars actually. I keep wondering if that's such a good idea. Do people actually click on those? Anyway, that area of these kinds of themes has to be put in manually because they're not included in the original design.

I read, with slight amusement, one of the articles he imported from blogger. "New Site Almost is Up - I Already Hate GoDaddy" reads a lot like what I've read at other sites (including mine) about registrars that later do web hosting. In my opinion, registrars need to stick to what they do best and let web host companies do what they do best. GoDaddy, along with other registrars, are really good at selling and managing domains. They suck at web hosting. I had issues with Dotster.com, another registrar. I still use them for my old domain registrations, but got away from their web hosting as soon as it was financially possible.

Okay, anyway, take a look at Mitch's blog when you get some free time. It's only a few months old and he probably needs to be harassed so that it just gets better than it already is.
