Can you believe I haven't done one of these since October, 2007? Well, my DSL connectivity problems started in September, so I stopped using up all of my available online time visiting blogs. Things have changed and I now have connectivity 24 hours a day like I'm supposed to have.
Okay, I've done list posts of different kinds, but not like these. My patent-pending, no bitter beer taste, "blog drive-bys" are like mini-reviews of posts on the blogs I've visited where I share my honest thoughts and opinions on what I've read or seen. Well, at least most of the time.
Enough! Here are today's…
Some people are serious about zombies. Yes, I said zombies! You know, the kind that wants to eat your flesh or munch on your brain? Zombie Scenario: What Would You Do During an Zombie Attack at Work? I didn't know it was a problem!
Speaking of zombies, you'd better be in good shape to handle the horde of the undead who come after you all the time. What better way than the post-apocalyptic workout? I tell ya, you'll be glad you're in shape when you really have to run!
Jon Hughes, President of Phazm Webdesign, published "Easy as Pie - Ajax Requests" back in December. Now pay attention, you web programmer wannabees. This is how you do the client-side programming for Ajax requests — the kind that don't require every page to refresh. I wait with bated breath for the next installment with the PHP server-side companion code.
I lost track of the "Jolly Green Girl" when I switched computers. Somehow, I'd lost the URL and didn't notice until yesterday. When I did notice, I treated myself to her latest article on how to help conserve trees by signing up for electronic billing statements. In my book, it's not about saving the trees since trees are being grown specifically to make paper with. It's about refuse and the lack of it. Electronic billing, statements, etc. don't take up any additional physical space and never have to be physically disposed of. No garbage in, no garbage out. You know what I mean?
Much closer to home, I spotted the article on the reason why only a few Pinoys are aware of blogging. Pinoy is slang for a Filipino male whereas Pinay is slang for a Filipino female (also called Filipina). When used in this fashion, it actually applies to both male and female. Anyway, the answers are all in the article and I tend to agree because of my first-hand experience.
Rod, over at BloggingNotes.net, made a suggestion to get rid of what you don't need on your blog. Sometimes, more is actually less. I commented that I thought my blog was decluttered to the max and he agreed, almost making it sound like a bad thing. It's not, of course.
Sutocu, over at Your Website Profit wrote an article back in August about article marketing and where to submit your articles. I recently read about this in several other places as well. Did you know you can rewrite any article you've already published, using a whole lot of synonyms, and then submit them out there? You'll avoid duplicate content and get some nifty backlinks too!
Stephen Cronin wrote a great article on "The Adsense Dilemma (Or How To Make Money)" and wrote what others have failed to point out. He lists his references (other great bloggers), which is something the so-called "A-listers" don't seem to do very often at all. I want to point out one item: Regular and social visitors don't click ads. Search engine visitors do. Of course, neither is always true, but it's what I've learned from experience as well. Therefore, only search engine visitors get to see my ads. Cool, eh?

I could always keep going, but I'm pressed for time right now. I hope to be able to do these "blog drive-bys" much more often.
