How to Get Screaming Traffic
There are ways to get screaming traffic and I want to take a moment to clarify a few things. In order to increase website traffic, you need to understand website traffic.
Social Traffic
We humans are social creatures, the normal ones of us anyway. We need to interact with other people. In the online world, it's even more important than real life where the interaction is sometimes unwanted. That's because we also value our privacy, which is sometimes much more difficult to obtain in the real world.
Belonging to social websites and communities fulfills this need. If you use the tools available from the social websites, you can begin to get screaming traffic, but it's all going to be driven by the frequency of your interactivity.
Search Engine Traffic
Search engine traffic fulfills a different need: To make money online. In order to use search engines to increase website traffic, you need knowledge concerning search engine optimization (SEO), your selected niche (topic) and the proper use of keywords/phrases. If you're effective, your links will rise in the search engine results pages (SERPS) rapidly.
Search engine traffic doesn't require you to be interactive in any way with other people. We're told over and over again not to write for search engines and write for people. You have to do both at the same time. Only through good content in targeted topics AND good SEO will your links rise in the SERPS.
Traffic Sources
For social traffic, good sources include services such as StumbleUpon, BloggingZoom, and Digg. Commenting on blogs and participating in discussions at social websites like BlogCatalog will also drive social traffic to your website.
To make money online, you need search engine traffic. Social visitors don't visit your website to make you money and they won't click on your ads (okay, sometimes they will, but it's not the norm). Search engine visitors will always be the bulk of the people that will make you money.
Authority Sources
Scan this article carefully; the techniques I'm using come from authority sources like Grizzly at How to Make Money Online for Beginners and Vic at Blogger Unleashed. And then there's Court at Court's Internet School of Marketing and Frank at OpTempo.
After my first experimental post of how to make money online, which was a resounding success, I sincerely trust these bloggers more than all of the so-called "A-listers" combined.
Final Thoughts
Yes, this is yet another experimental post. The first one entered the SERPS at 856 for make money online and 127 for how to make money online. I checked both phrases a few minutes ago and make money online is at 219 and how to make money online is at 26. As crowded as the niche is, I didn't expect to be anywhere within the top 1000 results, especially within 10 days. If either makes it into one of the top 10 spots in the SERPS, I'll be getting more search engine traffic than I've ever received before.
Read what the authority sources I provided have to say on their blogs. I wish I'd found the kind of information they provide (for free, by the way) a long time ago. In order to make a lot of money from search engines, you need to increase website traffic. To get screaming traffic, your links need to make it as high in the SERPS as possible.

Thank you.
hi RT, I just commented on another post and then spent some time catching up on a few of your other posts. You've got a lot of good info here, and I can see I'll have to come back for more (when I have time to crack open a beer I think). I'm impressed how powerful some of your posts have been in the SERPs based more on on-page stuff and less on links. I never would have figured. Anyway, in the meantime, I'm just wondering if anyone will find my screaming trade show displays. You'll notice I made the link bold. In another one of of your posts, you said strong was better than bold. Our screaming trade show displays are both strong and bold, but have you really found that strong is better than bold? I'd appreciate your feedback. And as I said, "I'll be back" when I have a bit more time. Thanks for the opportunity to comment – I'll be curious to see how things develop. Steve

only 10 days? amazing.
i'll try to implement what i've just read =)

hi RT, My fascination with what if any effect/value these comment links have has led me to try another project which I hereby dub Project Platinum Catfish Bloomers. My other gopher project is showing some effect in Yahoo, but nothing yet in the big G, which I think may be a delay effect, but we shall see. That project is using three non-relevant comment links. Now I'm wondering what effect a single highly targeted comment link can have, and how long it takes to have its effect. If this comment link bumps you off of #1 for screaming traffic you are welcome to delete it to get your spot back, but I wouldn't loose any sleep expecting that (or put any money on it). I'm just wondering what if any effect it will have, and what we can learn from that. ~ Steve
If it was a competitive term, I'd be miffed. But since no one really searches for it, have at it.
I'd be interested if you could bump my post down a notch or two. Fire away, damn the torpedoes, and all that rot.
Screaming traffic sounds good to me :) Youre still #1 on my datacenter. Love the blog by the way and your 'Authority Sources' are absolutely spot on ;)
Your description of Social and Search engine traffic is very useful. Until recently, I was not aware of the difference. It is very important to understand in order to promote your blog or website. Thanks!
Hi RT – thanks for the info for all of us looking to get screaming traffic :-)
And thanks for the link as well … btw, CC rocks – great job!
Best to you,

Grizzly just sent me here, nice blog..;)
i think a major element to getting screaming traffic is securing a great position in the search engines – and that mostly comes down to backlinks.
for example, you can see that Fred Black's site pqinternet.com has about 6000 backlinks for the keywords "internet business", and those keywords appear both in the page title tag and meta description of his home page.
i use the same principle myself, but i automate my backlinks with the Neurolinker backlink generation system. for non competitive keywords you can get number one positions for a couple dozen, or couple hundred backlinks. but as with all things, it takes time.
