Diamond If there's one thing I've learned in more than a year and a half of blogging, it's that no one can write "diamond-quality" articles on a daily basis.

I've published my fair share of stones and then some. Sometimes it's intentional, believe it or not. If I write "diamond-quality" articles every time I write, then that becomes what's expected of me. I've noticed that I pick up a lot of repeat visitors when I write a series of good articles. The problem is that the same repeat visitors bail on me when I don't.

Writing consistently good articles is a great thing to be able to do, if you can maintain that level of quality. I've observed that even those I consider some of the best writers can't maintain high quality on a consistent basis. I know I couldn't, even if I tried. Not only that, but it wouldn't be fun anymore. I think writing should be as enjoyable as reading.

Writing takes many forms, and reviewing a blog is a form that I particularly enjoy. Why? I get to point out things that might not seem so obvious to the casual observer. I'm behind on blog reviews right now, but it's only partly my fault. I won't make any excuses, though, because it doesn't solve any problems. Solving problems is something else I like to write about. Are they "diamond-quality" articles? Sometimes.

Just in case you haven't noticed, I no longer have any social website widgets (not even in the footer) on my blog. I realize I'm going to be losing out on SOME visitors, but I know it's not that many. I'm going to be concentrating on the social websites that you see near the bottom of each post — StumbleUpon, BloggingZoom, etc. Those two are the primary ones I intend to focus on. Why? So that I can identify and promote the diamonds that I come across almost every day.
