Is that something like a jackalope? Oh, I get it… "alert". Sorry, just a play on words.
Actually, I've been getting a lot of Google Alerts mentioning my blog title and/or blog address and some of them make no sense at all. Maybe they're those spammers trying to trick Google Search into thinking they're linking to my blog. Maybe they're trying to trick me into visiting their sites. It seems both are working for them because I check all my alerts. Most probably, a search request that has my domain as one of the results triggers an alert.
As I go through through them, I'm going to delete the ones that make no sense and see what I can do with the rest of them. I know! I'll find out if they're linking to me and link back to them. I've got alerts going back to September, so I guess I'll start there. I won't be fooling around with any viral link lists or links to posts with 50+ links as part of some kind of chain. No sirree, not me.
Anyway, look for an "Alert Frenzy" kind of post appearing on a regular basis as I visit the links and even possibly leave a comment or two.
