Today is my 47th birthday. Whoop-dee-do! I already celebrated my birthday on Saturday, along with one of my brother's in law since our birthdays are only 4 days apart.
There will be no drinking or other forms of merriment. It's going to be a quiet day. I've already received my well-wishes from most of my online friends and my immediate family members — my older son and my daughter-in-law (damn, that makes me feel old) are vacationing and staying with my wife. Of course, my younger son is living with me here.
I probably won't hear from my parents, siblings and that side of the family. If I do, it'll be in the form of email or birthday cards I'll receive in 2 to 3 months. That's one of the disadvantages of having relatives that aren't quite up to snuff on the whole Internet thing.
