I guess I wrote a little too soon in my last post. The wind started picking up (and the air is normally still in this area) and some light rain started and stopped. I checked the news at the Philippine weather service and Typhoon Mina is making a direct beeline for this area.
This is the first typhoon this year that'll make landfall in the Philippines. Judging by the satellite pictures, northern Luzon (where I am) is going to take a severe beating as the typhoon is gaining in strength.
It looks like I'm going to have to play catch-up today and tonight (and depending, of course, on the fact that I can keep a decent connection) — typhoons like this always knock out the power and the water.
Update, early November 26, 2007: It looks like the path of the center of the storm is turning away, to the north of me. It could change, but it looks like we're just going to get a lot of rain and some mild winds.
