Today is Black Friday!

No, it's not another stock market crash like the "Black Friday" of September 24, 1869. Today is the day after Thanksgiving Day, the day retailers generally see an upward spike in sales and consider it to be the start of the holiday shopping season. The reality is that it's the biggest shopping day of the year in the US.

If you have something you've been meaning to buy, either for yourself or a gift, today is the day to get out there and get it. If this is the case, why are you sitting in front the computer and reading this?

Indeed, in a different way, today is Black Friday in our country. There has been serial bomb blasts in the state of Uttar Pradesh today. Allegedly by a Muslim extremist group.

So sorry for Hari's reality today.

I actually did go out with a very specific list of three things. No deals on my items, but it was kinda fun to get out on BF for the first time. The Barnes and Noble and Wal-Mart weren't very busy, but Toys'R'Us was slammed! (((((HUGS))))) sandi

Black Friday indeed. Stores were opening around here at (stepping it up a notch) 4am! It's BS. This society is screwed up when the priority becomes besting your neighbor by being the first to grab that deeply-discounted digital camera in the middle of the night. That's why some of us prefered to sit in front of the computer and read this.

Well, this black Friday wasn't spent splurging. More people went shopping than last year, but those people also spent less money than they did last year. Check the link out for more details.
