Cooked Turkey

Last year I celebrated Thanksgiving Day, my first while in the Philippines. Most Filipinos don't celebrate the occasion. My wife, having lived in the US for more than 20 years, insisted on it last year.

The biggest turkey she could find last year wasn't much bigger than a leghorn chicken in the US. I was disappointed — the three of us picked it clean to the bone and we were still hungry!

Since my wife is in the US right now, while I and our younger son are in the Philippines, I'm not celebrating the holiday this time. Nonetheless, I encourage you to enjoy the holiday with your families. Perhaps my wife will be celebrating the day with our older son, who is vacationing there with his wife (they flew over from Germany for a couple of weeks).

As for me, I'd rather eat this guy:

Foghorn Leghorn

"That's a joke… I say, that's a joke, son."
