Go RealRanker?
I knew that concentrating on BloggingZoom instead of Digg would lead me to some interesting articles. Unfortunately, the information in the article by Andrew Ooi, which pointed me to RealRanker, raises false hopes. Andrew found the link at Rice Blogger and made it sound official whereas Adi Wong said it may not be official.
RealRanker isn't the official rank checking site that IZEA is working on. The RealRanker site ranked this blog at 51 and my other blog at 23. Since the PayPerPost tools aren't installed on the other blog, I knew the information was bogus right off the bat. I checked the "whois" information for realranker.com and it's been in existence for more than 3 months. I don't know what the RealRanker tool is, other than some SEO measurement, but it has nothing to do with RealRank™.
For those who would like to know, the RealRank formula is like this:
- 70% weighted towards visitors per day
- 20% weighted towards amount of ACTIVE inbound links per day
- 10% weighted towards pageviews per day
This means unique visitors per day will carry the most weight whereas pageviews (including multiple visits per visitor) will carry much less weight. This appears to be completely opposite from the Alexa formula and we really don't know what the Google formula is right now.

I read on the PPP blog that RealRank is starting to collect data today. Exciting.
Yes, it is!
Will blog owner really get PR0 because of PPP??
Yes. Blogs that post for PPP have been confirmed as targets.
Have you checked your RealRank? I have no idea what to judge my rank against. It doesn't mean much as all the PPP opps are still handed out based on PR.
The first stats won't be available for at least 22 hours.
You won't have anything to judge your rank against since you'll just have a number (from 1 to n). PPP opps are switching quickly to the RealRank. They froze my PR at 3 on their site or I probably wouldn't have seen anything for days.
Oops, color me stupid. I must be behind or too brain dead to realize it. Time zone differences don't help any (not when it's 12 to 16 hours).
I have a RealRank. It's 157, whatever that means.
That's weird. Mine was 352. I figured yours would be better than mine, or it's a reverse scale, like Alexa. I don't know.
I'm sure until they make the rankings against each other public there will be a lot of "What was your score?"
I got my RealRank and guess what! I got 53 and 55 for two blogs and around 100-200 for the others. A couple got around 2,000+. Sounds neat but….I am segmented out due to Asia continent and the PR filtering is still adopted by the advertisers. In the end, the number is just for self-gratification.
How did you get a RealRank for a blog that does not have the PPP Tools on it?
HMTK is rated at 47, whatever that may mean
Because realranker.com isn't RealRank.
Check your blog in PPP and get your RealRank, which changes every day.
I'm part of the RealRanker project, which was indeed started over a year ago. It's not to be confused with the Izea tool mentioned. RealRanker.com is a site ranking engine, designed to give a score based on links, relevance, and many other SEO factors. All data is self-sustained, not reliant on other search engines. It's still in beta, so give it a try.
