I feel like I'm behind the power curve.

"Behind the power curve" is an old aviation expression — when an aircraft's drag starts to slow it down faster than the engine can recover from quickly. It was later generalized to refer to situations where external circumstances cause you to be behind and require a lot of catching up to just to get even with the rest of the world.

How does this relate to me? Nearly three days have passed since the last time I posted an article. It was on the 15th to be exact. There were several factors causing me to be away from doing what I normally do. I will neither explain them nor make excuses for my absence. I'm sure a lot of you are tired of hearing excuses. For those of you who've been reading my blog since before June (when my left leg was injured and infected), it won't come as a shock to learn that I've been intentionally writing less. Those days of four, five and even six posts per day are over. Less than one post per day, however, is NOT intentional.

I still haven't created a badge for Comment King (or Queen). I haven't found a suitable image yet and I'm graphically-challenged. No amount of software can help my uncreative self. I'm still looking. I appreciate the assistance of Ed and Tim in getting the word out, and anyone else who plans to participate and provide the needed data. Perhaps I can get Hari to create a badge of some sort if I beg loudly enough. His Geeky and Meeky strips (as well as my blog logo) are evidence of his visually creative talents. Anyway, I'll announce the ongoing comment contest formally tomorrow, even if I have to make a lame badge myself.

I'll see if doing some blog reading and commenting will bring me out of the curve and help me catch up with everyone else.
