The GeekWithLaptop wrote an interesting article, referencing Reuters of course, about the copyright pact involving the large media companies. I smell a large group of rats.

Goldcoaster wrote about, and I stumbled it, about how Microsoft has been sneaky in changing windows update settings. It's yet another reason to seek an alternative operating system, if you can do without Windows.

Lucy at the Corporate Eye recommended that you, if you're a business owner, turn your new employees into sales people. Not to sell a product or service, but to sell your company to future employees. Who would make a better recruiter, a happy new employee or a professional recruiter? The former is a more powerful voice.

Just in case you didn't see it, like I saw it on Digg, Matt posted links to a collection of small icons for web development over at Meta Titan. Some of them are perfect for those links you want to be visible, but not drawing away all the attention from everything else.

Peter at Necessary Skills made a point about resisting temptation as opposed to avoiding it. I treat it like I treat trouble. I don't have to fight temptation if I don't put myself in a position to be tempted. It's a whole lot easier to avoid than it is to resist.

And finally, a news article was published by Edge Media about the fast moving fire in Malibu, California. With all the fires in California over the past few years, I wonder when the state will start conducting controlled burns in the land of the rich and famous. Or is that too much of an imposition on their lifestyles?
