While I sat here for several hours trying to save a post on my other blog, the local electric company was playing games with the switches. Do you want to know what happened each time? You guessed it. I was disconnected from the Internet. The switching each time was just short enough not to shut down my shiny new desktop computer.
If that wasn't bad enough, some of the local residents have been lighting firecrackers for the past few days. Last year it was a different noise maker, the "boga", that was responsible for all the noise. These people have no concept of when to stop, lighting up the firecrackers well past the time that normal humans need to sleep.
Both of these things remind me of my own definition of stress: Physical strain and tension caused by suppressing the overwhelming desire to choke the living shit out of someone. Considering the fact that I'm only a guest in this country, the stress is almost unbearable.
