I can usually tell when Andy Beard has been working behind the scenes to stumble, digg, or whatever to promote my blog (or just about any blog for that matter). Today is no exception. He can say he had nothing to do with it, but I suspect the contrary.
I've never heard of the Technorati Top 100 blog. Until now, that is. I spotted an incoming link to my blog, paid them a visit and these are a couple of things I saw (click to enlarge):
Yes, this blog is number 15 on a list that I don't think it belongs on. I'm not a social mover of any kind, at least in my own opinion. Who's avatar is in the second picture (other than mine at the top)? Andy Beard's is one of them — it's the big "A" on there.
If Andy didn't recommend this blog for that list, I have absolutely no idea how it got there. Even if he didn't have anything intentional to do with it, he may have influenced the list indirectly. I've seen that happen before.
On another note, it's a good thing I captured those screenshots because my blog disappeared from the list when I reloaded the page.
