Since this a 451 Press blog and they all look alike as far as the theme goes, I'm going to skip all that and head straight to the content of Current Events Watch.
Doug Robertson is probably more outspoken on a lot of topics than I'll ever be. He seems to cover much more about the things that I've merely touched on in the past. Politics, religion, you name it. That's to be expected of a blog that focuses on current events. Mine does not.
After reading my biography (on my "about" page), Doug wasn't too sure if it was a good thing to have a retired Marine review his blog. After all, there's a bit of Bush-bashing in a few places. You know what? It doesn't matter. I'm not pro-Bush, anti-Bush, or anything of the sort. I support Bush because he's our president and only because he's our president. If Al Gore or John Kerry had been elected, I would have supported them as well. It's a leadership thing, not a political thing.
Take for example, Doug's article "Sic Him!". It's not really a bashing, but it comes close. The part that Doug probably won't understand is that I agree with him. A leader, any leader, doesn't defer to subordinates what he himself should be able to answer. The economy might not be in the toilet, but the United States dollar is, and Bush should admit that. You don't have to be an economist or a genius to see the dollar being worth less and less in the foreign exchange markets.
I read the original article before I read what Doug referenced in "Jehovah May Need Some Witnesses". You would have expected something like this from The Onion, but to find out it's for real is just crazy. Another lunatic politician is on the loose and we need to get him into a straight jacket as soon as possible.
I won't dig any deeper. Doug has a great writing style, probably much better than my own (I'm my own worst critic), and a lot of stuff worth reading. Venture on over when you get the chance, if you're so inclined.
