It's been over a month since my last batch of drive-bys. Many other things, not all bad and not all good, got in the way of doing them. I'm picking up where I left off and I hope I can keep doing it for consecutive days instead of sporadically. If you have the time, please take a few minutes to check out today's…
I missed his post about it on August 22, but Jazzman informed us that YouTube has a YouTube Desktop Beta out. This might be something to try if you spend a lot of time on YouTube. I do, but I think the desktop application would eat up my lowly 768K connection.
Admiring a bit of art, I checked out Greg Lunger's (aka ironmanx) N -14 Nebula. Done with seven layers in Photoshop, it's something that I would never be able to do. I'm not creative enough. Plus, I'm too cheap to buy Photoshop. I know The Gimp is supposed to be just as good, but I can't do anything worthwhile with it either.
Leah wrote about a Weird Dream she had. It kind of sounds like the kind of weird dreams I was having for a while. Dreams that make no sense at all.
Although I'm not an iPhone owner, and probably never will be, it's interesting to see that people are hacking it to make the most of it. Andreo wrote about the GUI version of Famous Free Apple iPhone’s Unlock Software right after writing about how to Edit, Save and Convert MS Word docs from Your Apple iPhone. Neat stuff.
Without mentioning his own blog, Johno wrote about Smashing Magazine's 45 Excellent Blog Designs. Being the curious type with absolutely no design skills, I checked it out myself over at Smashing Magazine. The only blog I recognized on there was Binary Moon, but some of those designs are extremely nice.
Alex wrote about the Worlds Smallest Laptop - Fujitsu Lifebook U at TechL. And I thought the itty, bitty laptop the Subictel techs used when setting up my DSL modem was small!
If you're into the Goth scene, you should check out Cindy's Gothic Makeup Step by Step pictures at Foreign Beauty. I'm pretty sure it's her face in the pictures and it doesn't look like she overdid it.
Lisa posted an article by Anisa Aven, which tied in the horrific events of "9/11" to the Law of Attraction, over at 40s Singleness-Living "The Secret" called When Bad Things Happen To Good People-A Reflection On 9/11. Interesting reading, but I don't buy it.
Jay, the Phoenix Real Estate Guy, wrote another article about their loss of signs in Sign, Sign Everywhere a Sign: Part Deux. Reading some past articles, it looks like I sold and got out in the nick of time (early 2006).
Dr. Ada Ozoh wrote an Introduction to chronic (migraine) headaches at Menopause Lifestyle. It's interesting to me that most of the things listed that trigger migraines don't ever trigger migraines for me. I think stress, something I rarely experience now, and sleeping habits are the only things that have ever bothered me. I rarely get headaches these days.
Check out the Splitting Wood, Redneck Style video over at Blue Beaver Bear. Tim said this was done with Mentos and Jolt Cola. I'd hate to think what that combination would do to my stomach!
