Love is such a strong word for something like this. I prefer "like" a lot better.
Looking back through my archives (I had to search for the first time I mentioned PPP (PayPerPost) because it wasn't included in the right category), I mentioned that I signed up for PPP on April 18th, 2007. Because of other problems, I didn't write my first PPP article until July 4th, 2007.
The other problems included my PayPal account, to receive payments with, and my own grappling with the fact that a lot of readers don't like to see blog ads of any kind. I took care of the first problem and came to grips with the other problem. Sponsored posts are here to stay and you're going to keep seeing them on various blogs throughout the "blogosphere". Many of the blogs I frequently read have sponsored posts of some kind, even if they're not as transparent as PPP.
Besides being an easy service to work with, PayPerPost has a huge list of opportunities available all the time. It probably doesn't seem so if your pagerank is below three but when I first started doing them, they had my pagerank as zero in their system and there were still enough opportunities to keep me as busy as I wanted to be.
I've been trying to do at least one sponsored post per day, but my DSL connection doesn't always agree with me. Complying with PPP's terms of service is extremely easy and I have yet to have a post rejected for noncompliance (I had one temporarily rejected when my blog was unreachable and they couldn't verify the post). I have been paid $83.00 by PPP so far and have another $204.62 pending payment right now. That may not seem like much to some people, but I've already purchased another domain name with part of it. It's money that didn't come out of my pocket.
I plan to use my PPP earnings for several purposes. I don't need money for every day living, but my pension doesn't cover things that I want or need that are not considered necessities. I've already used it for one — the domain name I mentioned above. The earnings will cover my web hosting renewal next year, purchasing a new computer and donations to other blog authors.
So… in essence, I probably do "love" PPP for the things I plan to do with the earnings.
