Blog Review: Nicole Richie Watch

Two weeks ago, I reviewed one of Antony's other blogs, ABC Soaps Watch. I'm finally back to the second of three blogs he asked for a review on.

As another "451 Press" blog, I won't be writing about the theme. 451 Press does that part of it. I'll simply write about the content.

I have to admit that I had absolutely no idea who Nicole Richie is. No, I don't live under a rock, but I do live in a place where I don't get to see American television. It could be considered a hindrance for a review this, but I consider it a blessing most of the time. There's some really horrible programming on American television that I can do without.

Okay, so I looked her up on Wikipedia. It seems that Nicole Richie was being fed by a silver spoon early in life because of her adoptive father, Lionel Richie. Okay, so she starred in a reality series with Paris Hilton. I found nothing interesting about this lady myself.

Nicole Richie Watch is exactly that. A blog that watches her life. I'm sorry, but I can't write about the content because I had no desire to read about her. I just looked at the pictures, like most men do (that was subtle humor in case you didn't catch it).

RT, I'm beginning to think you should impose some norms/conditions for blogs to get a review. This kind of review seems very odd to me, because you actually haven't reviewed anything: you're not interested in the content and you have nothing to write about the theme either. Not that I blame you. It's just so difficult reviewing in some instances, not because something is bad, but because there's so little to say either positively or negatively about it.

You're right. I didn't really review anything. I spent time trying to review it and that's all. What can I say? Just because I don't find a blog interesting doesn't mean that others won't. Mentioning what the blog is about is better than ignoring it, in my opinion.

After all, the primary goal of writing a blog review is to get their blog noticed.

  I understand your motivation to do this now. But I think you were more effective with your drive-bys, linking to specific articles, rather than blogs.
