   I know you well enough now and I know you won't feel offended, but I've got to be honest.

   This kind of thing just feels so… spammy…

      Linking out in any post feels spammy to me, but unfortunately it's the way the web works. If you don't do it, you don't get noticed.

         Not at all. It's posting several links like this without any accompanying text that makes it look spammy.

         However, don't think I'm criticizing you at all, because I know that you're very particular about this kind of thing and I realized that it was some kind of commitment on your part as part of the viral linking project.

         What exactly is this viral linking project all about?

         It's about linking out to like-minded blogs and they link back. Random bloggers spot it, copy it and link to the existing list with the intent of getting reciprocal links themselves.

         It would be pure spam if was linked out to random blogs, but it's not. It doesn't matter. I don't want to do it anymore because it's time consuming to look through my Technorati blog reactions and Google Alerts for new linkers and I don't have the time anymore with my DSL problems.
