Okay, I have to say that Mohsin's blog, Blogging Bits threw me a curve ball. I don't know if he redesigned it this way before or after publishing his article on Things To Consider In a Blog Redesign. It's obviously not a traditional design. The index page includes no content, just post titles along with the header and the sidebar. There's no footer there either. Looking at an article, everything's there except the footer. Wait, I spotted the article, Blogging Bits New Design and it explains a few things.
It's interesting that he left the footer out. The footer can be a powerful tool for those that actually end up at the bottom of the page and aren't looking to leave a comment. I've considered experimenting with my own footer content. The footer doesn't have to be just for credits. I don't know what Mohsin's statistics look like, but looking at my own I can see that the index page is my third most viewed page of all time. I think Mohsin should consider at least having excerpts on the index page and use the "more" tag versus leaving the content out altogether. I think it would increase his overall page views. If he's concerned about duplicate content, using meta tags to not index the index page would be a better option.
I found a "despamified" email address at the bottom of the "about" page. Unless Mohsin doesn't want to receive a lot of email, I suggest a more prominent kind of contact option. A separate contact page or even a contact link visible on the index and single post pages would be bit friendlier in that regard.
Despite the problems I have with the theme, Mohsin may have other opinions based on his own experience and his own statistics. The meat of the blog, his content, is very good. I couldn't believe it when I saw that it was less than two months old until I started paging the index. His Alexa rank is quickly heading into the 100K territory and will probably be there as soon as he hits the magic three months mark.
