Do you want to do your part for the environment, but don't know where to start? Just recently launched, "Grow" is a user submitted green news service. Unlike other environmental websites, "Grow" wants you to get involved. The staff writes in-depth articles on their blog, inviting comments, and offers further interaction in their forum.
Your first impression might be that this is nothing more than a Digg clone. Your first impression would be wrong. Sure, the service is kind of like Digg in that each story is user-submitted and voted on by other users, but that's where the similarity ends. While Digg is broadly based on many diverse topics, "Grow" is focused on environmental issues. They want you to Grow Green News and use the service to inform people of the truth behind the news that affects the environment. Unlike Digg, this service includes the ability to attach both photos and videos to the stories. The stories are about things that are "green", affecting our world, and nothing else.
If all of that isn't enough to convince you to head over there and take a look, I'll list some of the topics they cover (this is merely a sample):
- Solar Power
- Wind Energy
- Climate Change
- Science & Technology
- Space
- And more…
Don't just read the news about things that affect our every day lives on this planet. Get involved.
