Blog Review: Life in the Country
I've been reading Snoskred's blog, Life in the Country, for a few months now. Like a big dummy, though, I didn't have it in my feed reader. I don't know why. Maybe it's because she comments on my blog enough that I just follow her link when I have the time. I don't spend a lot of time in my feed reader but that isn't because I don't want to. I think it's easier than physically going from blog to blog everyday, like I did six months ago. I still hop around blogs enough that sometimes it seems like days before I get back to the ones I want to read.
Snoskred has a great blog. I really enjoy what she has to write about, regardless of the topic. When I make it over there (which I don't have to now that I have it in my feed reader for sure), I usually end up spending a minimum of an hour just reading. I should comment more, but I get so darned busy with incoming email, I lose my place a lot. Not only that, but I really dislike the "Blogger" comment system. If it doesn't come up for me, I usually don't post the comment and sometimes that happens. You'd think since this is Google's baby now, they'd have something more efficient in place.
I just read and commented on her article, 14 Reasons Readers Unsubscribe From Your Blog., and found that I and my blog fell under the "I'm overwhelmed" category. She cleaned house already and my blog is still on her list, so I must be doing something right. There's another article, which I can't mention, that I have to follow up on. You'll see it later, if you come back to read later. That's all I can say about it. It's nothing bad, I assure you.
Snoskred has been doing some modifications to her theme and yes, I noticed young lady. Your header looks really nice. I didn't see a separate "about" page but that's okay because I think you have it all in the left sidebar. The contact link is there too. I hope that link is "de-spamified". I hate spam myself, unless it's SPAM. Mmmm… SPAM.
I can't find any negative things about her blog and I really don't want to. Honestly.

RT – I usually don't notice that you post so many times a day because I enjoy reading the posts so much, and I tend to get to them before there's 3 or so..
I love your work and your content so much I don't even spot it.
You're in my Favourite Men folder. Just so you know.
I'm more talking about the people who post 5+ posts about the state of their day each day. And what they had for lunch. And the state of their digestion system. I was almost surprised they didn't take photos of their.. bowel movements and blog about them.
Yes, I have seen such blogs out there on the internet, I think there's even a website devoted to it. Do not ask how I found that hehe
I'd like to see them wrap all that miscellaneous stuff into either one daily post or edit it out entirely, but maybe that's just me.
I have been thinking about making an about me page which is on my other webspace, as Blogger does not allow you to do this. I am also starting to seriously consider wordpress, though it scares the living daylights out of me I have been playing with it and it isn't as difficult as I thought it would be. I would want to get all my ducks in a row before switching over though, and we will be moving soon so it won't be for a little while.
Being a scambaiter, I do greatly enjoy it when the scammers write to me, so I didn't de-spam that address. If the scammers are unfortunate enough to send me an email, it's their problem – I simply put their email address into the automated baiting system I use, and they spend a lot of time talking to a computer. It's hilarious to watch, I must publish more of them on the blog..
I'm in my feed reader most of the day but I'm a bit behind right now and I expect it to get worse while we're moving.
The secret to efficient feed reading, I have found, is to have many smaller folders so you can read a whole folder in 5 minutes or less. That way, once an hour when I take a break, I get through a lot of reading and I don't lose my place.
Thank you enormously for the review, I am highly flattered!
coming from you it is high praise indeed.
Little did I know that the day I somehow found myself here at your blog how much enjoyment it would bring me. I am so grateful that my internet travels somehow led me here.
