Matthew gave me three blogs to choose from for a review. I picked the most popular, Blog About Your Blog, and put the other two at the end of the "queue" to do later.

This blog is a multiple-author blog. Unlike my own where I have a co-author that writes on an irregular basis, Matthew invites as many bloggers to join as he can. It's similar to a few others I've seen this way, but I won't link to them here. This is his blog review.

It's difficult, at best, to critique this kind of blog. I certainly can't pick on the content because the variety of topics is intentional. The theme, however, has a problem. The right sidebar looks okay in Internet Explorer, but the sidebar background abruptly stops at the end of the content in Firefox. This is the case on any page where the content is shorter than the sidebar. I know it's a CSS problem, but I couldn't tell him how to fix it.

At the 1024×768 resolution, there's a lot of empty space beyond the left and right borders of the page and I think the page should fill up most of it. It's just easier to read that way and then the pages don't look so crowded. At my widescreen resolution, half of the screen real estate is wasted, which is more than most fixed-width blogs leave me with.

Besides Matthew, there are other familiar authors on the blog. At least they're familiar to me. I won't link to them here (see above) but if you take a look, you should recognize the names. The article, 2 Great Ways to Check Your Blog Health, is by one of them and the article, What Is The Title Tag In A Blog, is by another. Heck, there's a whole slew of authors listed in the sidebar!

I think this blog is in my feed reader but I'll have to double-check. If it isn't, it will be soon.
