Blog Review: The Phoenix Real Estate Guy
It has to be incredibly hard to write on a blog that concerns itself with real estate, regardless of the location. Somehow Jay, The Phoenix Real Estate Guy, manages to pull it off. Despite what you hear about Los Angeles or Hollywood, the Phoenix valley in Arizona is where the real estate activity is the busiest. Just read his article, Metro Phoenix Leads Nation in Retail Construction, if you don't believe me.
As an aside, I plan on doing a sponsored post after this review about my past mortgage. Although it only requires 100 words, it's definitely going to be longer. What does it have to do with this review? Although I live in the Philippines right now, my previous home was in Phoenix! Since I'm going to write about something of my own history, why not get paid for it?
I couldn't find anything wrong with Jay's blog, even though I gave it a strong effort. Real estate blogs can be incredibly boring to anyone outside of the real estate and financing professions, especially if they don't cover the areas the readers live in or are interested in.
If you dig through his past articles, you'll find that Jay has more than real estate up his alley. His article about the poor service at Rustler's Rooste is a good example. I've never eaten there and after reading that article I don't want to. The service ranks down there next to Black Angus for me, which is pretty bad as well.
Anyway, let's cut to the chase. Jay is the "go to" guy when it comes to real estate in the Phoenix valley area and his blog completely reflects that. If you're looking to move there, or away from there, you can drop him a message right there on his blog and I'm sure he'll get back with you quickly.

Actually, I think that the stories realtors tell about nutty home buyers and sellers are seriously entertaining and could be a fun blog subject. We have been looking for a house for a while and experienced some really bizarre situations with our agent in this market that could be interesting posts.

You are right when you say that writing a real estate blog is hard work. What can we do to make our blogs more exciting or more readable to the general reader? I try and make mine specific for people interested in my area and I try and infuse my personality into the blog (without being too snarky.) What would bring you back for more?
