Even with the frequent brownouts and my flaky DSL connection, I'm still managing to get a few things done. Completing this today is a feat in itself, which I think is incredibly amazing considering how much I'm doing on battery power alone. If I'm lucky, I might be able to do this again tomorrow. Here are today's…

Blog Drive-Bys

I'm very pleased at hearing that Matthew Jabs is back to writing on his blog, eJabs. I thought with all the time that's passed, I'd either have to add his blog to my list of dead blogs or commence with a hostile take over. Well, it isn't hostile if they don't fight back, is it?

I always enjoy reading, in my feed reader, Ed's articles at The Pisstakers. I especially enjoyed the flawed business plans he wrote about. At least, as a boy, he could dream about it. When we reach adulthood and realize how crazy our ideas are, we have a tendency to be extra careful in our plans. Perhaps that's what's wrong with us.

Dave posted a warning about a possible fake email message from GoDaddy at Dave Zan's Domain Name Blog. I knew it was fake the moment I read it. GoDaddy is based in Scottsdale, Arizona, and there is no way they would let a grammatical error like "Please click hyperlink below" get out the door.

Jim wrote about three income sources at ffprod66 but failed to mention a fourth one, and probably soon to be the most popular if it isn't already, called PayPerPost. I could easily make $150 per month with PPP by writing a single $5.00 post every day (but I won't). There are some bloggers who do exactly that.

I read the true story at Two Write Hands about two different people getting embarrassed by the incident that started it. I feel for both of them, but the fall onto hot pavement is something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy — I have burn scars from having it happen to me (120F plus in the Arizona sun).

Bryan at One Man's Goal has set up a teleseminar with Jill Koenig "The Goal Guru" for August 14th and all of his readers are invited to participate. I won't be participating but that doesn't mean you shouldn't.

Debo Hobo is emulating John Chow at Debo Hobo Dot Com by asking for a review in exchange for a link back. Well, it works for John Chow because of his high page rank but 200 words is a lot to write for a blog that isn't ranking yet. I may do it just to be different — as long as I don't forget about it (you know, CRS disease kicks in every once in a while).

Nate listed five ways to get other bloggers to link to your posts at Nate Whitehill dot Com. I already do the first one on the list quite a lot. I'm not too sure about the plugins mentioned in numbers 2 and 5, but they can't hurt and perhaps I'll try one or the other. I'll have to think about the other items on the list. There's always room for improvement and I have a lot of room right now.

James listed ten things that only I can take responsibility for at Visualized.Feel.Abundance. These are some good points that I have to sit back and consider. Off the top of my head, I have to agree with most of them. The others, well, I have to think about those points and where I stand today (besides being retired).

It seems I've hit a rut and keep landing on blogs with lists on them. Alex at Personal Development - Brick Blogging listed ten tips to save the planet and save some money at the same time. Unfortunately, I do half of them without having a choice in the matter and the other half I don't have the option to even do. I'm limited by what's available here.
