The Sweet Girl wrote about Friendship Day at My Life And My Views. Apparently, August 5th is "National Friendship Day" in the United States, as declared by the U.S. Congress in 1935. I don't celebrate it (this is the first I heard of it) but then again, every day is friendship day for me.
Princess Haiku wrote about the "Ghosts of the Amargosa Opera House" at Princess Haiku. This is an opera house in Death Valley, California. The video she presented starts a story I think I'm going to explore further a little later on.
Maintaining a blog is hard work. It makes me wonder, though, if it's a job that's cut out for everyone. The SEO Blogger's last post was his first SEO report on June 6th. Mike didn't write anything after writing about his review by FameFire on June 7th. Marco hasn't posted since June 11th, after writing about the StumbleUpon effect. The last post for Tobsy on his blog was on June 14th when his hard drive passed away. I wonder if they'll continue by the time I post some more "dead or dying blogs" on my next drive-by.
I didn't realize the 14-year old by the name of Carl, the face behind carlocab.com, is a Filipino. Well, now I know. He just recently received a video review instead of the usual blog review. Good for him!
Natalie wrote about writing until your fingers bleed, metaphorically, at Logo Tree Designs. It kind of reminded me of when I wrote about Blogging Until My Fingers Bleed. Her article's better, of course, since mine was just a tad bit above nonsense.
I just read about how Malaysia is affected, but not drastically, by the American stock markets at StockTube. I don't know about there, but the drop of the exchange rate from 52 to 45 pesos per dollar in the last year over here in the Philippines is killing my budget. The dollar is in the toilet.
I just watched a rare video posted by Lorla at Lorla's Blog. The herd of the victim fought back and defeated a pride of lions, after the lions won a tug of war against a crocodile for the victim. The victim lived and rejoined the herd of buffalo!
Mike at Mike's Homefront gave away five secrets to finding a good Chinese restaurant. I agree with all the points. I've been to some really lousy Chinese restaurants with the missus where both of us walked out before ordering anything.
Jay posted some photos of the great Sonora desert outside of Phoenix at The Phoenix Real Estate Guy and included a photo of one of his signs that had been vandalized by a shotgun toter.
Have you ever tried Japanese Ice Cream? Goldcoaster seems to like it, but I think it must be an acquired taste. I tried some different flavors when I was on Okinawa and couldn't handle it — I always went to Kadena Air Force Base for the American stuff!
