Almost every blog owner/writer/author wants people to comment on his or her blog. I fail miserably at doing it myself. My drive-bys are my way of commenting on blogs that I don't feel the desire to comment directly on. Maybe I'm just an airhead. I am, after all, a blond (with a lot of gray now). I'm trying to change and comment more often — but it's hard to do when the majority of blogs I read, I read through my feed reader.

Nevertheless, feel free to comment or do some "speedlinking" of your own. Either way, I appreciate it. Anyway, here are today's…

Blog Drive-Bys

Mike at wrote about the StumbleUpon Beta at TwentySteps. I didn't notice it, but I clicked on "Favorites" from the SU toolbar and there was a link to try the new beta. So I did just that. I like it! It's much easier now to find what I'm looking for.

A geek with a sense of humor is priceless. Sean, the GeekWithLaptop, posted a cartoon of Bart Simpson and incorporated his blog into the picture. I don't know how he did it, but I want one just like that! A blunt reminder to Sean: I'm still waiting for the categories version of SRG Clean Archives. And no, I will NOT eat Bart's shorts!

I really hate the fact that there are some people that, through a little hard work or just plain luck, make more money in a year than I could make in several lifetimes. I just perused the highest paid TV stars at 7 Confessions and I left with a sick feeling in my stomach. I'm not envious — just a little perturbed.

Checking in on Rod and Alex at Alex - Road to Freedom, it appears that Rod and Alex are either together by now or soon will be. I hope Rod got the visa that he required for Alex.

I stumble some blogs on a regular basis. With articles like "How to Be a Great Salesperson", Life Learning Today deserves it. It's not the only blog I stumble regularly, but it's definitely near the top of the list.

I was too young to join the military during the Vietnam era (and that was probably a good thing). Christopher Rose spent his time there as a war photographer. He writes about his memories frequently at VIETNAM. Photos & notes of a very personal war. There's nothing I can say — I have never been there and have no desire to go, even though their economy is picking up and they're trying to get tourism going.

I'm not sure if it's a parody, an edited commercial, or what at fruityoaty but the commercial (in Tagalog/Filipino) is hilarious. I know cats don't eat veggies, but these cats seem to like them. Perhaps there's some kind of meat broth mixed in with the noodles and veggies?

Pearl at Interesting Observations wrote about making a decision and sticking with it, along with a tidbit about her "about" page, which I can't seem to find. I want to see what she looks like. Anyway, it looks like she defeated the dreaded "writer's block" with that article. Now, I kind of wish I could just develop writer's block for myself because I write too much and I know it.

Robin asked "What is confidence?" at Fortune Watch. I realize it's a humor piece, but it struck me as funny enough to read more than once. Pilotless technology, running any software from the major players, would fail abysmally in my opinion. Running Linux (or even BASIC 2.0 from a C64) on the other hand…

Scott wrote about making beignets (pronounced "ben-yays") at ScottPot. I don't know about anyone else, but powdered sugar on anything is not my idea of a treat. You know, what the hey, he's in his 20s and I'm in my 40s. Different strokes for different folks. Check out his My Sites page for the all the blogs he's affiliated with. He's a blog monster I tell ya!

And now, a few extras I wanted to add:

You can tell that Bryan at One Man's Goal was tickled pink about getting a link from Darren Rowse, of Make Money Online at Pro Blogger, in a speedlinking post. I wonder if Bryan gets any vibrations from mine (that's what my drive-bys really are, just not very speedy).

Speaking of Darren, I appreciated his article on how to Differentiate Your Blog. Here's the video he posted on YouTube:
