RSS Feeds: Pownce and Spock Invitations
I was recently given invitations to both the Pownce and Spock services.
Pownce is a service kind of like Twitter, but… I won't go into it. Please read what Jonathan at SmartWealthyRich had to say about it. The desktop software is in the alpha stage and still crashes for a lot of people and the website is still in the beta stage.
Spock is a people search engine. Again, read what someone else wrote about it: Vinod at Vinod Live!. It's still in the beta stage.
I have six invitations (right now) available for Pownce and 101 invitations available for Spock. Leave a comment (and use a good email address, please) saying you want one and I'll send it right out (provided I'm here at the computer).

Thanx for the link RT! By the way, I have to update my post (which I should do tomorrow) the Pownce team released a new version of the software and seems it's working fine now, still some mimor bugs, but it's more stable than the previous one.
I still have 4 Pownce invites left, if yuu send all of yours and more people want one.

I just downloaded it and installed it. It still crashes when I use Alt-Tab, but it might be because I use the Powertoy. I'll remove that and see what happens.
Yep, it was the XP Alt-Tab Powertoy to blame. I uninstalled it and rebooted and now the Pownce desktop application doesn't crash at all for me.

In simple understandable English, what the hell are Pownce and Spock? Everybody keeps comparing them to still more obscure names like Twitter and I haven't a clue what it's all about…
Pownce is both a web page and a desktop application which is similar to an IM, except that there's no real time chat.
Spock, besides being a Star Trek character, is a search engine where you can look up people and businesses and you have to have an account, unlike Google.
