A Sponsored Post Service I Won't Be Writing For

I never thought I would do it. I never thought I would refuse to do business with a sponsored posts service.

I submitted my blog to a sponsored post service and they approved it, sending me an email message to finish the signup process. I won't be writing for them because I won't finish the process. At this point, you may be wondering why. Well, I'll tell you!

The service in question is "Payu2blog.com". Never mind the extra step of faxing or mailing a W-9 (which shouldn't be required at all — they can generate their own — all they need is a social security number), it was the rest of the message that turned me off.

Thanks for your blog submission, your blog qualifies and currently we pay $5 per completed assignment.

A blanket amount of $5.00 (USD)? I guess they're looking for just about any kind of blog author to write the posts.

*All assignments sent to you must be completed*

What? I don't have a choice? I do have a choice: Not to do business with them.

      You already know about PPP. The one I've been getting a few to write for is blogsvertise.com - I've had four, but turned down one on gambling.

      I belong to sponsoredreviews.com, but none of the advertisers have responded to any of my bids yet.

      I'll post about them all, at one time or another, whether they're good or bad. Everything slowed down after the 4th of July.

   The first (AND LAST) sponsored post company I went with…the only cool part was when I got to blog on other sites…then I could care less about talking about Hoodia for Teens or The Ab-Wheel!

         The best part about it is that I only see one or two spams get caught by Akismet in a week and they're almost always pings from splogs.
