I find it annoying when I go through two pages of articles on a blog and they're all sponsored posts. When that happens, I have to ask myself where the blog part of that blog really is. I've done a few sponsored posts myself, but I will never let them bury my regular articles. As far as my drive-bys are concerned, I shuffle blogs like that to the bottom of the list because, perhaps, there may be a nugget of gold that appears later on. At least I hope so. Anyway, you won't find many sponsored posts in today's…
Vivien wrote a comparison of Digg versus Reddit versus StumbleUpon versus del.icio.us at Inspiration Bit. I stumbled the post to show that StumbleUpon traffic isn't exactly like she wrote — her experience with it was triggered by Digg and Reddit. This stumble is not triggered by either of those.
How can I get away with something like this? Jessica at Jessicadoyle.ca is taking a loooooonnnnnngggg break. Her most recent post is July 12 and she doesn't plan to write again until September 1. I would have blogaholic withdrawals after a week!
Did I ever mention that I'm a sucker for good art, regardless of the source (painting, photograph, etc.)? Well, I am! I enjoy it all because I don't have that kind of talent. I just got done admiring Shanti Marie's Koi in progress at A painting a Week. I don't know if it's done yet, but I can hardly wait for the final masterpiece.
I read the post at iReview and the source article quoted principles by a Japanese psychiatrist from the 1920s. I differ in my thoughts about the first principle, accepting our feelings and not trying to change them. As I plan to write in a future article, fear is an unhealthy emotion and I don't believe anyone should try to accept it without trying to change it.
Jonathan at SmartWealthyRich wrote about 7 things he learned about business by playing in a rock band. I stumbled it shortly after he published it. The comparisons are remarkable.
Alison isn't the first person to tackle the "Eight Things About Me" meme, but I found a couple of the items amusing at Eleanorblog. She has a pierced nose and people think her name's Eleanor. I need a smile once in a while.
One of the tasks that I like to do when I'm doing maintenance on my blog is to update comment author links when they change. I just did that for Jen at so you wannabee a Domestik Goddess? (and I linked to a totally unrelated post about a Faux Fox). I don't mind doing it, really!
Are you looking for a new mobile phone? Check out PhoneArea. There are tons of cell phones, accessories and other related items reviewed there. I have six (yes, six) cell phones, five with cameras, being sent to me. I'm supposed to keep three (one for me, one for my wife and one for my son) and give the other phones to other relatives. These phones, from what I understand, will work here in the Philippines. I plan to check this site for news and reviews of each one so that I can keep the best one for myself!
Monawea published six tips for choosing your next domain name at iwebis. I had to pause to think about each. At this point, I can't seem to agree or disagree with half of them. I think it all depends on what your domain name will be used for.
The post title says "obesity", but the willpower mentioned by Nash at Keeping Fit is A Daily Battle is something that everyone should use in every facet of their lives. Willpower is commitment. Without it, we might as well be a bunch of gelatinous creatures without a sense of direction.
