Blog Drive-Bys

Nick explained his delay in writing on his blog at Six Degrees of Inspiration. He didn't want a change in his personal relationships to have an effect on his writings. Blog authors have to do this once in a while to let their real personalities shine through any temporary setbacks.

Chen posted a picture and asked a question at A Journey Called LIFE… concerning a poppy seed cheesy: "Does eating Poppy Seed Fruit Cheese equivalent to taking opioid?" I don't know the answer, but before urinalysis testing was perfected, people were coming up positive for opiates just by eating pastries, bagels and buns with poppy seeds on them. It was terrible but I never heard of anyone losing a job over it.

There are some things I wouldn't attempt even when I was in the best health of my young adult life while serving in the US Marine Corps. Two Singaporeans, as written at eastcoastlife, are currently participating in a challenge to run a 217 kilometer (about 134 miles) distance in the area known as Death Valley in California (USA). I wish them luck.

Tor from Tor's Rants told a somewhat amusing story of working in the Bush compound at Walker's Point in Kennebunkport, Maine. It's amazing how perspectives change with time.

The bigsibling at The Bigsibling Blog wrote an about an "impotent" message from his bank. Yes, I know it was another phishing email, but he was obviously having a little fun with the phishers. The problem is there are too many people that are gullible enough to fall for this crap. If there weren't, it would simply stop after a period of time as being unprofitable for the phishers.

Is the Gauravonomics Blog experiencing blog death? The last post published by Gaurav was about the three steps in coming out of a blogging downward spiral, and that was in May. One thing that irritated me was the last comment for the post. Another blog author had the audacity to say that Gaurav wasn't writing enough about America's problems and Gaurav isn't even from America!

Hobbit at the India PR Blog wrote an interesting article about why a client would stay with certain PR agency, despite difference, rather than go with a new agency which might offer more bang for the buck. It's all about relationships.

Vinod of Vinod Live! wrote about the "people search engine" called Spock. He even offered to send invitations to the beta service to anyone who asked via comments, so I did. I'm simply curious. Perhaps because it's in reference to certain half-human/half-vulcan that has become part of many cultural histories.

Mike at Converstations made it a point to tell you to use personal pronouns when using the Search Once and Subscribe method of receiving notifications via RSS feeds from search engines. I never thought of doing it at all, so this is news to me. News that I can use.

Finding the humor in gardening is difficult, but that's exactly what Anthony at Compost Bin does. He seems to think his "magic strawberries" are getting eaten by squirrels. I didn't know what to think after reading about his mulch martini until I realized he wasn't serious. I award myself a big "duh" for that one.
